One Day...

Wow, I am learning A LOT. I like holding myself accountable for more efficient and productive behaviors and have learned that procrastination is my enemy. I'll give you a great example of this:

I got a brand new car in late December and I love it. I mean, I love it so much, it's like I've never had my own car before. I've been driving SUVs and trucks for the past 15 years and my car is so zippy; I can just zip in and out of parking spaces in a flash. The downside is that my teenagers have less space between them and can beat each other to a pulp, but I just turn up the radio to drown out the screaming.

Anyway. Since January, I've been thinking, I should really take the time to learn about my car. Get to really know all the features like my iPod button and how to get the back seats down. I should also make some sort of emergency kit so in case something happens I'll be prepared.  I've had these thoughts for about two months.

One day, I'll get to it.

                       One day.

One day came two days ago.

I'd picked up my son from school and could tell he'd had a bad day. In fact, he said he felt terrible (typical). I drove him to tutoring anyway because I just KNEW he was trying to get out of it. On the way, he fell asleep in the backseat.

It was so cute, I took a picture of him.

I didn't have the heart to wake him up because he clearly didn't feel well, so when his sister finished her tutoring session, I just turned the car around and headed home.

On the way, he sat up, a twisted expression crossed his face and he vomited all over my backseat. Nothing was spared. He managed to puke all over the seats, the backrest, the floor, himself, my purse...you name it, he got it.
I wish I'd put that emergency kit together.

The only thing that saved me was because I'd procrastinated in bringing in a purchase I'd made three weeks before, I had a plastic bag in which to put all of the napkins I had to swipe from a nearby McDonalds.

I wish I'd learned how to get those seats down so I could see if I'd cleaned up all the corn in the cracks.
