Remembering Family

A few days ago, I got a late night call from an aunt, letting me know that my uncle, Bobby, died.

I was surprised and also not surprised. Have you ever had that happen to you? Was there a time when you knew something was inevitable, but you didn't think it would happen so soon?

                                                                           That's how I feel.

I feel the loss and I don't know what to do about it. I just now realized that in my family, we don't have a mourning custom or process.

He'll be cremated and there will be no service or time of remembrance. He was a loner and he died alone.
And yet, I want to do something.

So I lit a candle and I printed out the simple e-mail he sent me a few days before Christmas.

And I'm still thinking about what I can do to remember someone who'll almost surely be forgotten.

                 Any ideas?
