Number One

In less than two weeks, another year will be over.

Have you been praying about how you plan to spend it?

Have you spent more time on decorating, meal planning, and the holidays                 than thinking about...

I was thinking about it over the weekend. If Christ returned right now, would he find me ready? Would he find me an approved worker? Have I really placed him in right priority and would he describe me as a true follower? The scripture below is about priority:

Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; and anyone who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Matthew 10:37-38

This is a hard teaching to hear, understand and apply.

The biggest conflict in my life is keeping Christ Number One in my heart and home, when everyone else (including myself) is vying for the same position.

Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to turn

'a man against his father,
a daughter against her mother,
a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law -
a man's enemies will be the members of his own household.'
Matthew 10:34-36 (cross reference to Micah 7:6)

Please join me in prayer for the rest of 2011 about keeping Christ number one in 2012. Pray over the areas of your life (your accounts) and allow him to direct you and keep you on the right path.

Will he find you ready?
